n°35 "Hollerbuck"

What an instrument! No body but a resonator can with reversed bridge. The machine heads are placed to the bottom while on the neck there is the skull of a buck. And it roars!!

Primitively cool Pickup-Winding Machine

A cheap liquid calculator works as a counter, two wires connected to the "enter"-key. Pre-set by "1" and "+" and ... rolling!

n°34 "La Dorada"

It's done. I was looking out for some concerts here in Vienna to ask a musician to play it live. Negative. The frets would be too sharp, they said. Ok, ladies, I'll round them off better. The neck would be thicker than their trussrod-bearing-mass-products. Well, I don't put trussrods because I think the vibration of the neck would dull. Once again, these instruments are unique, each one is an original, not a copy. Do you also compare a painting to a photo?

Build your own Cigarbox Guitar!

Liebe Leute,

es gibt nun eine Klangbox-Werkstatt in Ottakring, wo bald schon eifrig gebastelt wird. Wenn Du Deine eigene Cigarbox-Guitar unter Anleitung bauen willst... reden wir darüber!

Gegen Ersatz der Materialkosten und ein angemessenes Körberlgeld gibt's Unterstützung und Beratung zum Bau Deines Instruments sowie die Benützung der Werkstatt und der Werkzeuge. Jegliche Haftung insbesondere betreffend der Ausführung des Instruments sowie Verletzungen ist ausgeschlossen, die Benützung von Werkzeugen und der Werkstatt erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr.

Beispiele für Ausführungen gibt's auf meiner homepage. Sei kreativ! Bringe Deine Ideen ein!

n°27 - "El Trasgu" live at Bierkanzlei

Thanks Titus for playing the Trasgu four-string-guitar!! Its corpus is made of vegetable trays (for apples&cherries, to be exact). The light green colour comes from the grass at the cliff in Gijón, where I was sitting and watching the rough sea while rubbing the corpus with grass.
Unfortunately it lost frets during playing - nevermind, they had been cut from bicycle stokes and I will certainly find some here in Vienna. Attention, bikers!

Klangbox n°32 "La Gourmelona" at Goodball Party 09

Thanks to The Mary Broadcast Band for trying La Gourmelona at the Goodball Party 09! The Gourmelona's corpus is made from vegetable trays & tin of olive-cans. Seems that it finally got a little "twangy", just as I wanted it to sound :-)

The Klangbox "La Molinona" goes Bierkanzlei played by Jörg.
Handcrafted archtop guitar, made of wood of vegetable trys & tin of olive cans. The colours red-white are in honour of the Spanish soccer club "Sporting Gijón", place where it was built in summer 09.

Tocó el timbre, es hora de marcharse.. Me despido de Gijón con muy buenos recuerdos y las experiencias hechas alrededor de la música, mis instrumentos y el gusto de haberos conocido.

n°33 - Blancaineves

Tiene buena resonancia, con gran gran color acústico en los sonidos menos graves debido a su resonador. Cubre dos octavas con sus 68.5cm de cuerda libre. El piezo es integrado.

n°32 - La Gourmelona - Fotosession

n°32 - La Gourmelona, con "péndulo resonador", no sé si existía eso antes: una lata fondo arriba lleva el puente; está apoyada como péndulo, para que pueda vibrar dentro del corpus y que a la vez pueda transmitir las vibraciones a través del eje de apoyo. Dificil de entender, no? Pués a ver como sonará.

n°33 - Blancainieves con otro resonador: un cono del filtro de una cafetera. Primeros resultados: Estupendos altos, tipo Salvaje Oeste. La distancia entre cuerdas y trastes es elevada para permitir el "slide" (eslaid) con un tubo.
